Eudora’s owners insured the ship with the New Hampshire Fire and Marine Insurance Company, the 1803 builder and occupant of the 9 Market Square structure that has been home to the Portsmouth Athenaeum since 1823. The two watercolors and an account of the wreck were presented to the insurance company by one of Eudora’s passengers, John Rowe Parker (1777-1845).
