NORTH HAMPTON -- A ranch-style home was badly damaged in a one-alarm fire Thursday, displacing the homeowners and causing a pet cat to be hospitalized for smoke inhalation.

Fire Chief Michael Tully said the blaze caused significant damage to two rooms in the rear of the home at 9 Glendale Road, as well as smoke and overhaul damage to the rest of the house. The call came in at about 1:27 p.m.
