Butcher of Plaszow: Author shares absorbing story of coping with Nazi family history

A German-Nigerian woman, Teege was 38 years old when she discovered that her grandfather was Nazi Amon Goeth, the notorious war criminal known as the “butcher of Plaszow.” Goeth was commandant of the Krakow-Plaszow concentration camp in German-occupied Poland. He was hanged in 1946. Later, he was depicted in the film “Schindler's List” by Ralph Fiennes.
