DOVER — A fire inside an industrial oven at a business located inside the back part of the Washington Street mill filled parts of the building with smoke, forcing the its evacuation and a large firefighting presence.

Dover Deputy Fire Chief Micky Drouin said chemicals in three 55-gallons drums in the oven had caught on fire, producing black, acrid smoke in the building. The oven’s ventilation system was also not working properly, which contributed to the smoke in the building.
